Metsatöll, Heidevolk, Arkona - Pagan Rebellion Tour 2015

Well, it's time to call it a day (or year?), concert-wise. I've wrapped up this year with a particularly neat gig, since I have a really soft spot for folk metal music. And because of that, I again suffered from case of too heavy finger on the shutter. But I dare you, try to not do anything during gigs of those peeps! :)

Samael, Furia - Ceremony of Opposites Tour 2015

Again, similarly as in the Dark Tranquillity case, I must have lived under a rock so far, since I haven't got into Samael before. I really liked both older songs from the more black metal era, as much as newer, more industrial ones. Seriously, they discography immidiately lands on my Spotify "to hear out" playlist. Also, Vorph did a pretty decent job speaking polish when welcoming the crowd. Few more gigs and I bet he'll talk like a pro ;)
I sadly didn't make to the first support which was Bloodthirst, I arrived to see... or more likely hear Furia on stage (since the amount of smoke they've had made "see live" kind of an overstatement).

Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Veiled bride

My mind is constructed like a storage of meticulously collected ideas, pictures and phrases. They quite often combine and evolve into something new, when I see a certain image in my head. Then, I try to write it down. So I'll be albe to, later on, to make something of it and, so to speak, discard it and make some space for new ideas.
That was pretty much the reason of making this small veiled bride photoshoot. I've also had in my head this concept of Bride-No Bride along with a bit of Południca (Lady Midday, a slavic demon).
Huge thanks to Justyna Małecka, who provided her studio for the shoot and agreed to model for me.

Blues Pills, Alibi Club, Wrocław

As much as I love to photograph the pure, raw energy on stage, sometimes I just need to take a small break. And shoot something that is more of an experience, that you can literally dive into, feel the magic taking place in the venue. Blues Pills with Strain and Katedra was definitely one of those.

Provinssi Festivaali 2015, day 4

Phew, the last day of the festival. I was already getting tired and the lack of sleep started to get a gripe on me. I guess sleeping for 4-5 hours every night wasn't the best idea. But oh what the heck, resting is for the weak, especially on the festival, am I rite? ;)

Provinssi Festivaali 2015, day 3

Third day was the longest and the most exhausting for me, due to the amount of bands I decided to see. So, without further ado, let's get cracking!

Provinssi Festivaali 2015, day 2

After first long day I went to sleep as soon I've hit my matress, but I've slept in total for... 4-5 hours? Mainly due to my spine which hurt me like a bitch during night. Yay for festival life! So I woke up at 7 or 8 and went of to seek for some sort of a cure for my sleep shortage. After grabbing some coffee, I went to Törnävä to the festival site.

Provinssi Festivaali 2015, day 1

To begin with, I have to I seriously didn't believe that I'm actually gonna get there and do the pictures. It begun as an loose idea, after I saw this particular piece of video posted by one of my favourite finnish bands Stam1na. In a nutshell, they decided to play 1 gig per day for the whole 4 days of the festival, playing different album on every day. Including the earlier ones which I never heard live. I remember that I was so excited to hear these news that right of the bat, I decided - alright, Provinssi Festivaali, here I come!

So I applied for the media pass. But the reply wasn't coming for so long that I was certain that I won't get accepted. To my surprise I got the response. A positive one. 2 weeks before the festival started. And then I freaked out. Out of happiness of course, cause my request got a green light, but also - how am I supposed to pull off quite a massive logistic undertaking? With a help from my family and friends, I managed to book a flight (it ain't that easy with some airlines as you might think...), buses, accommodation, etc. and... I finally took off!

Julia and Mikołaj, 3.06.2015

It was my first wedding that I shot. And to be honest, I couldn't dream for more sweet, cheerful and photogenic couple for the first time :)

Here are some snapshots from the ceremony and the reception (which took place in Biała Akacja venue in Łąka Prudnicka).

Some things never change.

Gotta tell you, I have a special spot on the map.

I've never actually intended to go there. I think simply got lost while trying to find Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki. I remember it was bloody cold, cause it was February, but the day was really sunny. Covered under the white sparkly quilt, the whole place looked simply gorgeous.

Airbourne, Alibi Club, Wrocław 2015

I've been to many gigs in my 10 years career of a concert participant (yup, recently I reached exactly a decade! Time sure flies fast). But never ever I've been to a gig where it was so hot and steamy that one of my lenses got steamed too. Kudos, Airbourne!

3-Majówka 2015, Wrocław, Day 2

Since I've already explained what the hell Majówka is in previous post, let's get cracking with day 2.

Łąki Łan publika

3-Majówka 2015, Wrocław, Day 1

Majówka in polish actually means a small trip outside the city to relax and chill before going back to old routine. It can also refer to many big events which are usually organised between 1st (Labour Day) and 3rd (Constitution Day) of May. And because I've went to such event, I actually didn't chill at all, cause I've went to 3-Majówka in Wrocław. I don't mean I didn't enjoy it, rather like I've probably forgot how exhausting the festivals are ;)

And also - link to part 2 can be found at the bottom of the entry. Anyhow, let's get down to the business.

Thanks Jimi Festival - Gitarowy Rekord Guinessa 2015

I really don't know why Thanks Jimi Festival is still such a small event and known basically only in Poland. Come on, we're trying to set a world record here! Every year!

Thanks Jimi Festival - Gitarowy Rekord Guinessa 2015

Fore me it was always sort of a 'well-duh' event. I kinda took it for granted and didn't always attend it, since my guitar playing skills are pretty much non-existent. This year though I've had an opportunity to go with a camera and take some pictures of guitarists and bands performing on stage.

Kultur Shock

To describe my thoughts on last night gig I could sum up the whole entry with the title only - Kultur Shock. And it would suffice. But since we all know I like to write huge amounts of text, let's get down to the business.

Heroes On Tour Europe 2015

To start a new season of concert photography I've went to see Sabaton in Wrocław. What can I say - seeing Sabaton is always entertaining, Delain was a pleasant surprise, Battle Beast is not exactly my cup of tea (although I can't deny it, it's damn catchy) and Frontside I barely saw, due to barely no stage lights ;)

At this point I'd love to say huge THANK YOUUU to Johan, who saved my ass and got me a last minute pass, so I could take pictures at all. Tack så mycket, bro, I owe you one!
