Some things never change.

Gotta tell you, I have a special spot on the map.

I've never actually intended to go there. I think simply got lost while trying to find Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki. I remember it was bloody cold, cause it was February, but the day was really sunny. Covered under the white sparkly quilt, the whole place looked simply gorgeous.

When my cam decided to freeze on the cold, I decided to head to my destination. This place would be probably another of many cute places I've visited on my travels and never go back to. But next time I was in Helsinki, few months later, I went to stray on the streets again. And, what a surprise, I've ended up in the same location. And next 3 times I've visited Helsinki too.

And I don't really have a good reason to answer the question why do I go back. I'm not even a sea loving person, since I always prefered to go hiking in the mountains. Frankly, I've always assosciated sea with something boring. Because, let's be honest, what there is to do when one doesn't like tanning and swimming as much?

But this place somehow calms me and charges my batteries to the maximum. There is something definitely soothing in watching chilly water relentlessly hitting the rocky shore. Watching the seagulls chase after each other, audibly making themselves known to people and other animals. Ferries cruising into the nothingness of horizon. And doing all that boring stuff, for hours. Heck, I even shared my boringness on Instagram.

And then I got it. It's the fact that nothing changes, the perpetual cycle of things, happening all the time. All the things that don't change at all give you a sense of habit, routine that subconsciously make you calm down instantly.
I also discovered that this place holds a pretty positive vibe, aside the calming effect. I suppose also that I'm not the only one who liked this place enough to carve a proof of their past existence. I'll be damned if "V. M." sign wasn't carved in 1890s. I can't help but feel fuzzy and warm inside. And hope that V. and M. had a good life.
